Westmoreland Congregational United Church of Christ in Bethesda, Maryland is a progressive congregation rooted in the teachings of Jesus and aligned with a denomination of "firsts" and extravagant welcome.
The church seeks an Interim Organist to serve in a temporary employment capacity from September 2 - December 12, 2025 during our Music Director’s sabbatical. The Interim Organist will report to the Interim Music Director.
Duties
- Communicate weekly with the Interim Music Director to plan for weekly worship services, including choosing solo repertoire for prelude and postlude.
- Take requisite time for preparation. Practice time can be arranged with church staff.
- Play the organ during 10:00 am worship services on Sundays. Take part in choir rehearsal at 9:00 am on Sundays before worship.
- There will be three Sunday services when you are not needed to play: Sep. 28, Oct. 26, and Nov. 23.
Details
Compensation: $200 for each week and Sunday when the above duties are performed.
Benefits: None. Any sick leave will be unpaid.
