The College of Wooster Chorus is delighted to share an eclectic program of choral music on our 2015 spring performance tour. Going Home explores the notion of one’s place in a vast, flourishing, and ever-changing world. We examine the concept of home as a physical space, as a journey of imagination, and as an eternal voyage. We are particularly thrilled to premiere three brand new works on this program, including a commissioned piece by award-winning composer, Jake Runestad. Please join us for an evening of exquisite music!
Founded in 1964, the Wooster Chorus is comprised of students representing all academic areas within The College of Wooster’s liberal arts program. Under the direction of Lisa Wong, the choir has been praised for its beautiful sound, high level of artistry, and engaging performances. The Wooster Chorus presents several concerts both on and off-campus throughout the academic year, and embarks each spring on a weeklong domestic tour. Recent collaborative performances have included concerts with The Ashland Symphony, The Canton Symphony, and The Cleveland Orchestra and Cleveland Orchestra Chorus. In 2014, the Chorus was invited by audition to perform at the Ohio Music Education Association state conference, and was also named as a finalist for the American Prize in Choral Performance.
Performance is free and open to the public. Freewill Offering.
