All Westmorelanders, newcomers and long-time members, are welcome to this time of renewal, reconnection and reflection. Come for the whole weekend or Saturday only. Friday night will feature simple food, songs, and stories around the campfire. Saturday will include prayer, meals together, adult breakout sessions, childcare, kids arts and crafts, youth confidence course, the giant swing, kayaking, cooperative games, ice cream sundaes, and more. We will worship together on Sunday morning. On this retreat, you may rest, relax, roast, run, pray, play, paddle, purl, dream, dance, walk, talk, listen, love, giggle, gather, sing, bike, build, etc. Please contact Stacey or Casey Fannon at 301-564-4330 or email@example.com for questions, suggestions, or pre-registration.
The 2015 Church Retreat is at Camp Wabanna in Edgewater, MD, near Annapolis. The cost is $50 per person for the weekend (Friday and Saturday nights), or $35 for Saturday (day only). Meals are included.
Private family rooms are available. Limited single rooms are available. Most single guests will share a room with other single guests of the same gender. Shared women's bathrooms and men's bathrooms are in the hall. There is one private shower for family use.
Guests need to bring their own linens (sheets and a blanket or a sleeping bag, pillow, and towels). There is a small beach and kayaks so guests may want to bring a bathing suit, water shoes, and a beach towel.
Check-in begins Friday, October 9, around 5:00 pm. A lite dinner will be available upon arrival, followed by s'mores and song around the campfire (weather dependent).
Saturday, October 10, will start with prayer and breakfast in the dining hall. After breakfast, there will be activities for children and youth. For the adults, breakout sessions on current events and on spirituality will be offered. After lunch, sessions will include Science and Faith, short story discussion, Christian meditation, as well as "The Giant Swing", kayaking, and free time for walking, jogging, reading, cycling, basketball, soccer, hand ball, playing at playground. After dinner, there will be a cooperative, intergenerational Game Night in the gym, as well as Ice Cream "Gutter Sundaes" in the dining room.
After breakfast on Sunday, we will worship on the lawn, overlooking the water. Each group from Saturday will conduct a specific part of service. Guests may bring their own lawn chair or use one from Camp Wabanna. After worship, guests pack up and depart by noon. Some families choose to spend the day in nearby Annapolis before returning home.
