Ministry is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping people who
are homeless or in need to help themselves. The agency’s Next
Step self-sufficiency approach allows Participants to set life
improvement goals for themselves and with the help of Samaritan
Ministry staff, determine a series of manageable, specific tasks toward
the fulfillment of those goals. Services such as housing and
employment counseling, coaching, motivation, and more are offered by
the program. Samaritan Ministry offers free help to anyone who
wants to make a change in his or her life. There is no religious
requirement for Program Participants of Samaritan Ministry.

Job Description:Next Step Program case worker
Performs basic casework functions including intakes, assessments, documentation, follow-up,
review, plan development, research and problem solving with other caseworkers. Participates
in and facilitates case consultation. Work is accomplished by utilizing the Next Step
self-sufficiency methodology, coaching, advising and motivating program participants to
set Next Steps. Assures that casework is implemented in accordance with the Next Step
methodology and guidelines and the direction of the Assistant Program Director. Maintains
current information on various regional resources for housing, medical care, food,
clothing, training, employment, education, recreation and social services. Attends
weekly staff meetings and other trainings. Assists with planning of various events,
including Annual Job and Resource Fair and office holiday party.
Job Duties:
Qualifications or skills
Requires BA/BS degree and demonstrated interest/experience in social/human services, or four years of social/human services experience demonstrating progressive responsibility. Must have excellent interpersonal, analytical, listening, organizational and team skills, plus ability to do research and maintain computer records.
