residents with a holistic approach including food, clothing, social
services, medical and legal care. Various departments work together to provide services to more than 11,000
individuals and families a month.

Position: Social Services Case Worker - NW Center
The Social Services Case Worker works a small case-load of clients to assess
both their urgent and long-term needs. The position involves a great deal of
contact with clients, as well as calls, letters and face-to-face visits with a
variety of private and public agencies on behalf of the client.

Qualifications or Skills:
The position requires strong interpersonal skills
and an ability to work with diverse groups of people, including clients living
with physical and mental illnesses and volunteers from myriad backgrounds. Good
organizational skills, strong listening skills, and the ability to manage several
projects simultaneously are a must. Fluency in Spanish, patience, perseverance,
and a capacity and interest in learning about government programs are helpful.
Flexibility, optimism and a cooperative spirit in the face of hectic working
conditions, plus a sense of humor are all very helpful. Above all, a volunteer
should be committed to working for social justice.
