Technology CommitteeOur committee exists to facilitate communication within the congregation and between Westmoreland and the outside world. To that end, we work with the church webmaster and the Board of Membership and Fellowship to manage the church Web site (westmorelanducc.org), and manage the church electronic bulletin boards ("listservs"): Westmorelandnet (postings to the general membership at westmorelandnet@westmorelanducc.org), Westmorelander (the church newsletter e-mailing list), and Middleeastshare (for anyone with an interest in the Middle East). Westmorelander is an "announce only" listserv, where subscribers receive notification of the availability of the most recent Westmorelander, our church's newsletter. Middleeastshare is where notices pertinent to Middle East issues, including meetings of the Westmoreland Middle East Committee, are posted. Westmorelandnet is the church's electronic notice board, where subscribers learn about events and news of general interest to the congregation and can post such items for other subscribers to read. Other activities of the committee include advising the staff on computer hardware and software, purchasing and installing computer security software on the church's computers, managing the church's account with our internet service provider, and network issues.
