The school was added to Christ Episcopal Church in 1851 by British missionaries and operated on an Anglican pattern. The current principal, Hanna Abu El Assal, was educated in Michigan, including one year at the University of Michigan. He is a strong administrator and visionary who adheres to a hands-on policy. His goal is to have the highest quality school in Galilee and wants his students to be proud of themselves. Students take an active part in helping maintain the school and the environment.

The school includes 560 students with 230 in preschool through third grade and 330 in grades 4 through 12. The old school building has 12 classrooms and is used by the younger grades. A new addition with 10 classrooms was built in 1995 for grades 4 through 12. Sixty-five per cent of the students are Muslim. The school became coed in May 1995, but follows the Arab cultural pattern wherein boys and girls are not allowed to socialize on campus. Chapel service is conducted daily and two classes of Christian education are held each week.

English language instruction starts in first grade and is the third language after Hebrew and Arabic. There are 24 teachers on the staff and all are Christians except for one part-time instructor. Two of the teachers have Doctorates and nine have university degrees in their area of specialization. The teacher student ratio is 1 to 23.

A new science wing with a biology/chemistry lab and a physics lab was added in October 1995. A humanities wing is under construction and there is a new sports field. The school has a library and computer lab that includes a CD-ROM encyclopedia in Arabic/English.
