Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is composed of the chairs of the five boards—Christian Education, Community Action Deacons, Membership and Fellowship, and Trustees — and is chaired by the moderator.  As such, it exercises oversight, coordination, and communication across the boards.  It sometimes initiates ideas which are then passed along for the boards to address, and at other times it initiates ideas which do not fall neatly within any single board.  The Executive Committee is charged with appointing vacancies during the year for unfilled positions on the five other boards.  The board meets monthly; twice a year it organizes an open meeting, called a Church Council, for all boards and lay leaders on broad thematic topics of special timely importance.
