Board of Membership and Fellowship
Who We Are
The Board of Membership and Fellowship welcomes you at the front and back doors of the church. Our mission is to nurture the growth of a close community at church and to welcome new members into the congregation.
What We Do
Working in conjunction with the Membership Coordinator, BMF is specifically responsible for:
- Exploring the meaning of membership at Westmoreland and in the United Church of Christ.
- Welcoming, communicating with, and promoting a friendly atmosphere for all newcomers.
- Greeting the congregation and visitors at the front door of the church each Sunday.
- Scheduling hosts and hostesses to provide refreshments for a congenial gathering at Coffee Hour in the Social Hall following the worship service.
- Hosting the Welcome Back Luncheon in September, Valentine's Day Brunch,
- New Member Dinners and more.
- Facilitating fellowship activities for all ages and interests, including gatherings of Prime Timers, Parents Group, Millennium Parents, Young Professionals, Fellowship Breakfasts, Book Clubs and other social groups.
- Designing and carrying out church publicity programs.
- Updating the church website, handbook, brochures, visitor cards, name tags, Inquirer's packets, and other materials.
- Overseeing membership records and maintaining an accurate database of membership.
We welcome members to consider joining our board and everyone to participate in our activities. We are always looking for fresh perspectives and new ways of reaching our current members and the wider community. Do you know someone who might be interested in joining Westmoreland Congregational UCC? Do you have ideas about how we can more effectively promote our unique worship here? Have you thought of ways we can improve or expand our fellowship activities? If so, please contact Brad Case or Maryn Goodson. We really do want to hear from you.
